LMTA Committee Participation

Committee Participation
Committee Participation Form

One of the privileges of membership in the LMTA is participation on our active committees. As a committee member, you will serve an integral part in shaping the future of the trucking industry as directives for the associations’ legislative agenda and other activities are formed by these committees. We invite and encourage you to join one or more of the following committees. Please complete the Committee Participation Form and return to the LMTA Office. You will be notified of Committee meetings via fax or email.

Convention/Special Events Committee. The LMTA Convention committee is responsible for the site selection and program development of the Seafood Gala, Annual Convention and Fall Transportation Conference.  This committee meets regularly prior to each of these events and travels for occasional site tours of properties being considered for sites of future events.

Governmental/Legislative Affairs Committee. The LMTA Legislative Committee is charged with the review and recommended action on all bills affecting the trucking industry during each Legislative Session. In addition, this committee is asked to help bring issues affecting the industry and requiring legislative action to the attention of the association for consideration. This Committee meets regularly prior to and during each legislative session.

Membership Development & Retention Committee. Membership development, recruitment and retention is the cornerstone of the LMTA.  This committee is charged with developing a membership plan that will bring in new members who are committed to promoting the trucking industry in Louisiana.  This committee meets as needed and works closely with our valued Allied members.

Education & Training Committee.  The Education & Training Committee was recently formed to help identify the education & training needs of our members and implement programs to address those needs.  This committee is charged with developing “Leadership LMTA”  – a program designed to increase knowledge and relationships with the various regulatory agencies, improve leadership skills and identify and build future LMTA leaders.
